VLSI Architecture Design and Implementation of CANNY Edge Detection

In One of the most essential methods in digital image processing is edge detection. Because its capacity to detect edges even images heavily contaminated by noise, Canny detector widely used detection algorithm. A modified canny created MATLAB and implemented FPGA this project. The mask for gradient calculation, bilinear interpolation four pixels non-maximal suppression. iris subsystem, as a pre-processing stage. goal creating hardware modules was minimise complexity, improve performance, make it appropriate VLSI implementation on reconfigurable FPGA-based platform.
